- Das Flugzeug fiel im Flug immer wieder hinter die Formation zurück. Lange vor dem Zielgebiet beobachteten andere Besatzungen, dass der Pilot die Bomben abwerfen ließ. Mit einem offensichtlichen Triebwerkschaden fiel die Maschine bald außerhalb der Sichtweite zurück und dürfte dann von Jagdflugzeugen abgeschossen worden sein. Es gab keine Überlebenden.
