- Das Flugzeug wurde 20min vor dem Ziel (Steyr) von deutschen Jägern attackiert. Beim ersten Angriff wurde das 2. Triebwerk zerstört - kurz darauf bei der folgenden Jägerattacke dann auch das 3. Das Flugzeug verlor an Geschwindigkeit und fiel hinter die Formation zurück. Der Pilot hielt es nur mit Mühe in der Luft, da Elektrik und Hydraulik ausgefallen waren. Über dem heutigen Slowenien gab der Pilot das "Bail out"-Signal. Fünf Besatzungsmitgliedern gelang die Flucht zu den Partisanen und die Rückkehr nach Italien - fünf weitere wurden gefangen genommen.
