- Das Flugzeug wurde knapp vor Erreichen des Zielgebietes (Steyr) von deutschen Jagdflugzeugen attackiert. Ein Triebwerk wurde getroffen - und das ausbrechende Feuer dehnte sich rasch auf die gesamte linke Tragfläche aus. Das Flugzeug verlor ein wenig an Höhe und geriet in den "Slip-stream", durch den der Pilot die Kontrolle momentan verlor. Etwas tiefer konnte er die Maschine kurz aufgefangen und der Besatzung die Möglichkeit geben, abzuspringen. Die gesamte Crew landete in bergigem Gebiet und wurde erst nach einiger Zeit aufgegriffen. Alle überlebten.
