Das Flugzeug wurde von Geschossen der Flak und Jagdflugzeugen getroffen. Zwei Triebwerken begannen zu brennen. Die gesamte Besatzung sprang ab, bevor das Flugzeug in den Sturzflug überging und in der Luft explodierte. Ein Teil der Besatzung wurde in Ungarn, der andere im heutigen Burgenland festgenommen.
