Die Maschine hatte über Wiener Neustadt zunächst technische Probleme und sackte deshalb aus der Formation ab. Sie wurde von deutschen Jägern angegriffen. Eine Tragfläche begann zu brennen und die Besatzung stieg mittels Fallschirm aus. Die Maschine explodierte kurz darauf in der Luft.
