- Mehrere Flakgeschosse explodierten direkt am geschlossenen Bombenschacht. Im Flugzeuginneren entwickelte sich sofort ein Feuer mit erheblichem Rauch. Der Pilot hielt die Maschine etwa 3 bis 5min in der Formation, als plötzlich eine Explosion die Bombenschachttore aufriss. Zwei Besatzungsmitglieder, die in Flammen standen fielen dabei aus dem Flugzeug. Ein Besatzungsmitglied konnte den Fallschirm öffnen, bei zweiten brannte der Schirm und er fiel ungebremst zu Boden. Die Maschine ging sofort in den Sturzflug über, zerbrach in drei Teile und schlug am Boden auf. Kein Besatzungsmitglied überlebte.
