- Die Maschine wurde von Flakgeschossen mehrmals getroffen und verlor zunehmen an Höhe. Einzelne Besatzungsmitglieder versuchten sich mit den Fallschirmen aus der abstürzenden Maschine zu retten. Das Flugzeug ging in einen spiralförmigen Sturzflug über und ein Triebwerk begann zu brennen. Es folgte eine Explosion, die die erste Tragfläche abriss, schließlich brach auch die zweite ab.
