Die Maschine hatte Probleme mit zwei Triebwerken und konnte die Alpen nicht mehr überfliegen. Sukzessive verlor sie an Höhe, ein Teil der Mannschaft konnte sich mittels Fallschirmsprung aus der Maschine retten. Der Pilot konnte schließlich notlanden. Sechs Besatzungsmitglieder fielen vermutlich einem Verbrechen zum Opfer.
