Das Flugzeug wurde von deutschen Jagdflugzeugen attackiert und sackte hinter die Formation zurück. Ein Triebwerk brannte. Der Pilot ließ die Bombenklappen öffnen und die Bomben abwerfen. Zudem ließ er das Fahrwerk ausfahren, um den deutschen Jagdflugzeugen seine Aufgabe zu signalisieren. Die Besatzung sprang dann ab. Kurz darauf explodierte die Maschine in der Luft.
