- Das Flugzeug wurde beim Rückflug von Regensburg von deutschen Jagdflugzeugen attackiert. Die Flugzeugnase geriet dabei in Brand und zwei Crewmitglieder starben sofort. Die restliche Besatzung konnte über Hartberg abspringen. Der Fallschirm des Bombardier (Lannin) war beim Angriff zerstört worden. Er versuchte gemeinsam mit dem Piloten mit einem Fallschirm abzuspringen, stürzte aber in den Tod. Das Flugzeug schlug bei Wenigzell am Boden auf.
