Das Flugzeug wurde über Wien von Flak-Geschossen schwer getroffen, kollidierte mit dem Heck eines anderen Flugzeugs (42-52406) und zerbrach in der Luft. Teile schlugen am Wiener Zentralfriedhof am Boden auf. Hier fand man auch die sterblichen Überreste der Besatzung - keiner hatte den Absturz überlebt.
