- Die Flugzeug wurde von Flakgeschossen und Raketen getroffen, die es förmlich aus der Formation katapultierten. Die Flugzeugnase und der mittlere Bereich gingen in Flammen auf. Weitere Treffer folgten. Der Pilot versuchte das Flugzeug, das ständig wegkippte, stabil zu halten, sodass die Besatzung abspringen konnte. Er selbst konnte sich nicht mehr retten. Das brennende Flugzeug ging rasch in den Sturzflug über, verlor eine Tragfläche und explodierte in der Luft.
