- Das Flugzeug wurde von Jägern angegriffen. Dabei wurde ein Triebwerk in Brand geschossen. Die Maschine schwenkte aus der Formation, verfolgt von deutschen Jagdfliegern, die über die gesamte Dauer auf das Flugzeug schossen. Zunächst geriet auch das 3. Triebwerk und dann die gesamte Tragfläche in Brand. Kurz bevor die gesamte Tragfläche abbrach, verließen die ersten Crewmitglieder das Flugzeug. Das Flugzeug drehte sich auf den Rücken und stürzte sofort ab. Es schlug am Boden auf und explodierte.
