- Das Flugzeug wurde über Budapest von Flak-Geschossen getroffen und von Jagdflugzeugen attackiert. Südlich von Budapest brachen Brände aus und das Flugzeug schien abzustürzen. Der Pilot befahl daher den Notausstieg. Als die gesamte Besatzung abgesprungen war, bekam der Pilot das Flugzeug jedoch wieder unter Kontrolle und flog es alleine zum Stützpunkt in Foggia zurück. Die abgesprungene Besatzung, mit Ausnahme des ums Leben gekommenen Monaco, geriet in Gefangenschaft. Sie wurden Zeugen der Erhängung von unbekannten Amerikanern in Pecs.
