Das Flugzeug scherte kurz nach dem Bombenabwurf, von Flak getroffen, aus der Formation aus und verlor stetig an Höhe. Die Maschine dürfte - nachdem sich vier Besatzungsmitglieder aus der Maschine retten konnten - in der Luft explodiert sein und die restliche Mannschaft in den Tod gerissen haben.
