- Die Maschine wurde über Wien - noch vor dem Bombenabwurf - von Flakgeschossen getroffen. Beim dritten Triebwerk wurde der Propeller abgerissen und dieses begann zu brennen. Ein Flakgeschoss riss im Bereich des Co-Piloten-Sitzes ein Loch. Da der Co-Pilot dachte, dass der Pilot tot sei, sprang er noch über Wien ab. Seinem Beispiel folgten einige andere Crewmitglieder. Der Pilot erlangte jedoch wieder das Bewusstsein und konnte die Maschine im ungarischen Raum notlanden.
