Etymology (borrowing): source language Post-Classical Greek, ἀνδρολημψία (common noun feminine) “seizure of men”, compounding: ἀνδρο- (common noun) “man”, -λημψια (common noun) “seizure”, cf. LSJ ἀνδροληψία

In Krauss, LW I 124 explained as Gr. ἀνδρολυμασία. AC I 143a, Levy I 106b (ἀνδρολοιμός); Jastrow I 81b (ἀνδρολημψία). Löw (in LW II 598b) doubts Krauss’ explanation.
