- Das Flugzeug wurde von Flak-Geschossen getroffen, die das 3. und 4. Triebwerk sowie den Haupttank in Brand setzten. Der Pilot vollzog eine 360°-Kurve und konnte das Flugzeug dabei kurz unter Kontrolle halten. Neun Besatzungsmitglieder nutzten dieses Zeitfenster um abzuspringen. Nur der Pilot blieb zurück und war vermutlich noch immer an Bord, als das Flugzeug in der Luft explodierte. Von ihm fehlt bis heute jede Spur.
