- Der Verband wurde über dem Ziel von deutschen Jägern angegriffen. Dabei wurde das Flugzeug angeschossen und geriet sofort in Brand. Ein Großteil der Besatzung konnte das Flugzeug mit dem Fallschirm verlassen, ehe die Maschine in der Luft explodierte.
