- Die Formation befand sich bereits am Rückflug als sie im Raum Wien von deutschen Jägern (Me109 und FW190) angegriffen wurde. Die Maschine erlitt einen Treffer im dritten Triebwerk, das sofort zu brennen begann. Das Flugzeug kippte - als Folge eines weiteren Treffers - nach links. Die gesamt Crew sprang aus dem Flugzeug, ehe dieses in der Luft explodierte.
