שמעון בן עזאי אומ' וענותך תרבני בשר ודם מזכיר שמו ואחר כך שבחו פלן אגוסטא, פלן פרטטא. אבל הקב"ה אינו כן משבנה צרכי עולמו ואחר כך הזכיר שמו בראשית ברא (אלהים) אחר כך – אלהים.

Shimʿon ben Azzai says: And Thy condescension hath made me great (II Sam 22,36): A human being mentions his name [first] and then his praise: So-and-so Augustus, so-and-so, (I am) the noble. But the Holy One, blessed be He, is not so, for he mentioned His name only after he had created all necessities of the world - At the beginning created and then: God.
