Antoninus sent to our Teacher: ‘As our treasury is deficient, what shall we do to fill it?’ Thereupon he took his envoy, led him into his garden, bagan uprooting the large radishes and planted small ones in their place. ‘But give me a written reply,’ he requested. ‘You do not need it,’ was the reply. So he went back to him. ‘Where is the answer?’ demanded he. ‘He gave me nothing’, was the reply. ‘And what did he say to you?’ ‘Nothing at all, but he led me into his garden and began uprooting the large radishes and planting small ones.’ At that he began dismissing officers and replacing them with others, until his treasury was filled. AC I 144a, Krauss, LW II 68b-69a; Levy I 108a. אנטיגרפא and אנטיגרפין 〈ʾnṭygrgyn〉 |antigrafin| from Gr. ἀντίγραφον (as in EstR 7,24) should be distinguished between (Sokoloff, DJPA 41a; Krauss, LW II 69a; Levy I 108a). However, Jastrow I 83a doesn’t distinguish between the two, and neither does Shoval-Dudai 40b. Cf. Syr. ܐܢܛܝܓܪܦܐ 〈ʾnṭygrpʾ〉 (Sokoloff, SL 61a) [In SL, Sokoloff doesn’t distinguish between ܐܢܛܝܓܪܦܐ 〈ʾnṭygrpʾ〉 and ܐܢܛܝܓܪܦܘܢ 〈ʾnṭygrpwn〉]. Cf. also Sperber Card ad loc.
