AC I 61ab: “Herberge, Wirtshaus, wo die Tiere gespannt werden, Markt”. Sg. אטליס (cf. mTem 3,6) is not attested in GenR. Levy I 59b-60a: κ – ע – א; cf. also Krauss, LW I 124. Jastrow I 43a leads back to טלל 〈ṭll〉 ( Jastrow I 537): I. 'to cover screen', II. 'to play, sport', hence 'a number of booths put up for a mercantile fair, or for popular entertainments', 'shops, bazaar'. Jastrow I 342ab: הטליס 〈hṭlys〉 |heṭles|, הוטליס 〈hwṭlys〉 |huṭles| טלל 〈ṭll〉, 'bazaar, shop, public place'.
