In the world, it is usually like this: a person takes a protector who stands up for him and is arrested on charges. When someone comes to him and says, “Your neighbor has been arrested,” he replies, “I will stand up for him.” When he is led out to be killed, where is he and where is his protector? But the Holy One, blessed be He, is not like that. The ministering angels said to him, “Abraham, your ally, has been arrested.” He said, “I will stand up for him.” They said, “Look, he is standing before Amrafel! Behold, his charges have been read out! Behold, he is going out to be burned!” He said to them, “I will stand up for him.”
