Common in rabb. Lit. Cf. AC I 175b-176a; Levy I 122b; Krauss, LW II 83b-84a; Jastrow I 92a. Krauss distinguishes between A: “Wachposten, Wache” in Aram. and B: “Heeresführer, Präfekt” in Hebr. Sokoloff: “magistrate”. Acc. to Jastrow, “magistrate” is typical for Later Greek.
